How I forced Asake to be on ‘Timeless’ album – Davido

Nigerian singer and music executive, David Adeleke aka Davido, has revealed that how he got Asake to be on his latest album, ‘Timeless’.

The DMW founder, who said he is a big fan of Asake, featured him on “No Competition”, one of the buzzing songs off the fourth studio album.

Speaking during an interview with journalist, Adesope Olajide, Davido said he did not reach out to the ‘Sungba’ crooner directly, instead he compelled him to hop on the track by going through his record label boss, Olamide.

OBO said that he slid into Olamide’s DM and informed him that he wanted to collaborate with Asake, so the rapper immediately asked him to send the song.

Davido added that he sent it to Baddo’s WhatsApp but it could not be done immediately because he was on tour.

Also, the FEM crooner revealed that Asake loves to record when Olamide is in the studio with him, so they had to wait till both boss and signee were together.

According to the DMW boss, after a week, the Yoga singer recorded his verse on it and sent the song back to him.

In other news, Twitter user, Daniel Regha, called to join political discourse that emanated from the 2023 general election.

He said that Davido should begin to use his platform to speak out on political decisions that affect the lives of his fans.

Daniel, who is known for often criticising celebrities, urged the DMW boss to emulate rapper, Falz who recently dissed the INEC chairman, on a track with Vector.

He noted that when Davido he was off social media during campaign season people understood not to expect his comment then, but now that he’s back he should put his voice to good use.

The Twitter Influencer wrote; “Davido there are many political discussions going on right now, u deliberately stayed off social media during campaign season but now that u are back, put ur voice to good use.

It’s not by occasionally praying, take action. Emulate what Falz & other social activists are doing.”
