Superstar Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, has taken to his Instagram page to drop a major perspective on the industry and the streaming service when it comes to songs.

According to the award winning singer, the streaming numbers do not imply that a singer is talented and no one should get carried away by them.

He stated that if viral posts and songs like ‘Baby Shark’, ‘Gangnam style’ can have amazing streaming numbers then no one should get overly excited about streaming numbers.

Taking to his Insta-story, he wrote;

This streaming shit be making people think they are actually talented.

If Joke things like “Baby Shark” and “Gangnam Style” can do more numbers than everyone, Don’t think you are Talented or Respected cuz of your streaming numbers.

Everyone with real working brains know what is a Joke and what is real.

Anyway plenty talk no dey full basket. Let time reveal all.

This is coming after DMW artiste, Mayorkun, had taken to social media to post on his achievement after he attained 70million streams across different platforms.

His statement however received some backlash on social media, with some users regarding him as a ranter, who should rather focus on his blooming career than dampening the excitements of other artistes.

If you recollect, some days back, Burna Boy took to social media to condemn Nigerian artistes jumping on international deals.

In a post he shared on Instastories, the singer revealed such artistes don’t know what they are getting themselves into.

He however expressed gratitude to his mother and manager for helping him navigate without the help of foreign record companies
