The Prime Minister of Guinea, Ibrahima Kassory Fofana has announced that free water and electricity will be provided to its citizens for 3 months in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
Guinea’s announcement of free water & electricity is coming at a time that many African countries are yet to provide similar relief to the citizenry.
Fofana made the announcement via a televised address where he also indicated that rent prices have been frozen till December 2020, adding that public transport will also be made free for the next 3 months for Guineans.
Prices on pharmaceutical products as well as basic necessities have been frozen. The implication of this is that no trader can increase prices to take undue advantage of consumers.
