Governor Adeleke wishes nephew, Davido successful World Cup performance

Osun state governor, Ademola Adeleke has sent some words of encouragement to ace singer, Davido ahead of his scheduled performance at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Adeleke, who is Davido’s uncle wished him good luck as he is set to grace the stage during the closing ceremony on Sunday, 18th December 2022.

He took to his official Twitter account and said the artiste has done well for the Adeleke family and the world, and he is very proud of him.

The governor wrote; ”Good luck tomorrow nephew… @davido I love you ! We are so proud of you , You have done well for your family and the world!! 🇳🇬🌎 #QatarWorldCup2022 #omoosun”

Davido was initially scheduled to perform at the World Cup opening ceremony but, unfortunately, could not make it due to the demise of 3-year-old son, Ifeanyi.

The DMW boss will perform the Qatar World Cup anthem ‘Hayya Hayya (Better Together)’ at the closing ceremony on Sunday, December 18, 2022.

The 30-year-old will grace the stage with American singers, Trinidad Cardona and Qatar singer, Aisha.

Other music stars like Jennifer Lopez and Shakira have earlier performed at FIFA World Cup closing ceremonies.

Meanwhile, CorrectNG reported a week ago that the award-winning singer arrived in Qatar with his team.

A video which made the rounds online showed the singer alighting from his private jet with a blanket bearing his late son Ifeanyi Adeleke’s face. OBO could be seen in company of his lawyer, Prince Bobo Ajudua, Ubi Franklin and DJ ECool.

Hong Kong businessman, Stephen Hung, in a post on his official Instagram page on Thursday, 8th December had confirmed that OBO would still perform at the World Cup.

Hung wrote, “So happy my bro @davido confirmed he will perform at the World Cup Qatar closing ceremony. Can’t wait to see him there.”

In other news, David ‘Davido’ Adeleke took some time to relax and have fun. He went on a men’s night out with Ghanaian artiste, Stonebwoy and football agent, Bernard Collington.

However, while the DMW boss awaits the D-Day, the singer decided to chill with friends. A video shared by Benington on Instagram story showed both him and OBO chilling and he also danced with Stonebwoy as their song was being played.
