Fix bad roads instead of buying N160m SUVs – Mayorkun slams lawmakers

Nigerian musician, Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel also known as Mayorkun has lambasted members of the legislative arm of government for not prioritizing infrastructure development.

He criticised the National Assembly for choosing to buy expensive cars for themselves instead of rehabilitating terrible Nigerian roads.

It may be recalled that lawmakers recently took delivery of brand-new Toyota Prado reportedly worth N160 million each.

Although, Nigerians expressed dissatisfaction with their action, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Services, Sunday Karimi had justified the purchase of the vehicles, saying “Nigerian roads are bad.”

Taking to his Snapchat account to wade into the matter, Mayorkun lamented over the Lekki-Epe expressway in Lagos and called for swift government action.

He wrote, “Road no good, una dey buy new SUV. Fix the f**king rooooadddddd!!!!

“Lekki Epe Express is Terrible!. Appalling sh*t! Nothing like I can drive’ in this country o, I sabi road’ is a better compliment.”

He called out the president in a trending video as he lamented over the lingering fuel scarcity, shortage of food, and scarcity of cash in circulation.
