Filling O2 Arena not my priority, I want a billion dollars in my account – Shatta Wale

Multi award-winning Ghanaian singer, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr, professionally known as Shatta Wale, has said while other artistes dream of performing at the prestigious O2 Arena, his dream is to have huge sum of money in his account.

The Dancehall star stated that he has gained all that he can from music industry and does not care how he is seen anymore.

Shatta featured on a Twitter Space hosted by Ghanaian media personality, Serwaa Amihere on Wednesday, and noted that he does not see the need to put Ghana on the global map when Ghanaians disrespect him and call him a drug addict.

He explained that his primary goal as an entertainer isn’t solely centered around achieving sold-out concerts, rather, he is more interested in having one billion dollars in his account.

In his words; “You people call me a drug addict, why should I risk my life to fill a place for Ghanaians or the music industry? I am okay, I wanted to buy house, lands and investments, I am okay, so filling the O2 is not my priority, my priority is to keep a billion dollars in my account , that is where I am at right now. Nobody should disturb me about filling the 02 or my music.

After I filled the Accra Sports stadium, Ghanaians should have given me a helping hand to fill the 02 because I am not from London to be able to fill up the 02.

Asake alone could not fill the 02 , industry players contributed so if the Ghanaian industry is trying to burst someone who single-handedly filled the sports stadium without any promos, what more can I do”.

Meanwhile in another news…

CorrectNG reported earlier that Shatta Wale asserted that Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Asake is bigger than every Ghanaian artiste.

The controversial artiste made the statement while having a chat on Twitter Space hosted by Ghanaian media personality, Serwaa, on Wednesday.

The dancehall star, asserted that no Ghanaian artiste, including himself, has been able to reach Asake’s level career-wise.

Shatta Wale said; “No Ghanaian artiste has even made it like Asake. Not even me. Nobody in this Ghanaian [music] industry has made what Asake has made. Let’s be realistic.”

The host inferred: “But you said you are the richest Ghanaian artiste and you haven’t even made it up to Asake’s level?”

The singer responded: “Why would I have to make it up to Asake’s level [before I would be the richest artiste in Ghana]? There is a Spanish artiste in Spain or Dominican Republic that is making money that we don’t know.”
