Europa: Sevilla defeat to make Ten Hag sell Man United players – Scholes

Manchester United legend, Paul Scholes has claimed the club’s manager, Erik ten Hag would have made up his mind about the fate of some players following Thursday night’s loss to Sevilla.

The Red Devils have been eliminated from the Europa League after being thrashed 3-0 by Mendilibar’s side which progressed with a 5-2 aggregate.

According to the former United midfielder, the squad was “not good enough” and the players fall short when they find themselves in “big atmosphere”.

Scholes told BT Sport: “I think tonight has made Ten Hag’s mind up on a few of these players – that is probably the only good thing that will come out of this for Ten Hag.

“This shows the squad isn’t good enough, if you have injuries. This squad can handle other games but when it comes to the crunch games, big atmosphere, it falls short.”

In other news, a Saudi lawyer, Nouf bin Ahmed has called for Cristiano Ronaldo to be deported from the country after the player appeared to grab his genitals while walking off the pitch.

He vowed to file a complaint against the Al Nassr striker for making obscene gestures at the match against Al Hilal on Tuesday.

Earlier in the game, Ronaldo was almost sent off for putting an opponent in a headlock after Al-Nassr suffered a 2-0 defeat to Odion Ighalo’s Al-Hilal.

During his exit from the pitch there were chants from the crowd in favour of Messi which seemed to provoke the Portuguese star who proceeded to grab his crotch, an action which was deemed as ‘insulting’.

In reaction via Twitter, Ahmed said she will file a complaint to the Saudi Prosecutor’s Office for his ‘crime of public indecency’.

“It’s considered a crime of public dishonor, and it is one of the crimes that entails arrest and deportation if committed by a foreigner,” she wrote.
