Youths in Ondo state protesting against police brutality and extrajudicial killings, have reportedly rejected N2m bribe allegedly offered by a senator who asked that they allow him to pass a barricade.
Nigerians have been on the streets over the past 12 days, calling for a total reform of the police force, adding the demand for good governance.
According to reports, the senator driving his Range Rover, arrived one of the protest zones in Ondo state and asked that protesters permit him to pass, when they refused, he offered N2 million naira so that his request will be granted, but they also turned down his money.
Although the identity of the Senator was not revealed, protesters seized his car and used it to form another barricade as they made to chase him away.
However, some of the youths, out of respect still offered to accompany him across on foot, while others tagged along and were hurling insults at him.
