Ekiti school erupts in jubilation as Chef Dammy arrives for lectures (Watch video)

Nigerian Chef, Dammy whose real name is Damilola Adeparusi recently returned to school to resume classes and she got a heroine’s welcome.

Her coursemates and lecturer at Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, FUOYE, were very excited to see the young girl and they celebrated her when she showed up in class for lectures.

A trending video captured her colleagues breaking into her signature celebratory dance and chanting victory songs to encourage the 22-year-old student who attempted to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking time by an individual.

Dammy turned to an overnight celebrity after she concluded her 120 hours cook-a-thon last month and she went on media rounds. However, following the fizzling out of the buzz, she decided to go back to school and continue her studies.

CorrectNG reported earlier that Chef Dammy said the money realised from her cook-a-thon is not yet up to the entire amount that was used to set up and coordinate the record-breaking attempt.

She made this known while briefing the press on her plans to cook for 150 hours next month in a bid to break Chef Hilda Baci’s record of 93 hours 11 minutes.

According to the student, all the monetary donations that she got during and after the event are still in her personal bank account.

Speaking further, Dammy revealed that she will, therefore, file an application with the Guinness World Records to make it official.

She said; β€œAll the money that came in for me is not yet up to the money that was used to start everything. And more than half of the supposed money that came in are still in my personal account.

β€œFinally, I know there have been many speculations about me not registering this just-concluded cooking, but my team and I have decided to embark on this new challenge next month. After the support I have received from fans, well-wishers, and many highly notable individuals in the society. I, Adeparusi Damilola popularly known as Chef Dammy and my team have decided to hold another cook-a-thon programme next month.

β€œThis time, it will be held for a 150-hour, and it will be duly registered with Guinness World Records. Chef Dammy is coming back!”
