Nigerian musician, Speed Darlington has criticised the manner in which the authorities are enforcing the law against abuse of the naira.

He lamented that because of the recent clampdown on celebrities and personalities that spray naira notes at events, others are wary, and he doesn’t get sprayed money anymore.

In a video he recorded and posted online, Akpi as he is fondly called, narrated how he put up an impressive performance at a social event but people in the audience did not get up to make money rain on him.

According to the internet sensation, there were individuals selling cash at the event, but the attendeed refused to buy for spraying purposes, for fear of the EFCC.

Speed Darlington made a case for himself, saying that getting sprayed is a major source of his livelihood and the anti-graft agency is trying to take that away from him.

The rapper said a major way one gets to flaunt their wealth in the country is by spraying money lavishly in public, but if that is being prevented then it is a big problem.

Speed Darlington also made a case for strippers who get their money from getting sprayed in the club, wondering how they would now make income or if they would turn to other vices like kidnapping.
