Manchester newest signing, Odion Ighalo has made the history books as the first Nigerian to play and score for the English club.
Odion Ighalo’s maiden Manchester United goal against Club Brugge in Thursday’s Europa League tie sent Twitter into a frenzy after the Nigerian fired past Simon Mignolet.
The 30-year-old Nigerian, who was drafted in to aid the Red Devils’ injury crisis, got his first start in the Europa League game against Club Brugge.
He found the net in the 34th minute after converting from a close range thanks to Juan Mata’s assist in the 5-0 triumph.
Some Nigerian celebrities like Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Mayorkun, Mercy Eke and Yul Edochie who were ecstatic, took to Twitter to celebrate with their football brother.
