DPO allegedly kidnapped in Edo, vigilantes commence rescue operation

The Divisional Police Officer of Fugar Police station in Etsako Local Government Area of Edo State has allegedly been kidnapped.

Former President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Abdul Aminu Mahmud broke the news on Friday night.

According to him, local vigilantes have commenced a search and rescue operation for the DPO.

Mahmud, a Senior lawyer, shared the news on his official Twitter page.

”Meanwhile, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of @policeng Fugar has been kidnapped.

Fugar is the headquarters of Etsako Central LGA and hometown of late Rear Admiral Okhai Akhigbe.

Local vigilantes are combing bushes tonight, with a view to rescuing him,” he wrote.
