Don’t impeach Soludo when you’re elected – Obi to Anambra LP HOA candidates

Peter Obi, the Labour Party candidate in the just concluded presidential election, has said he is not in support of any plan or idea that candidates of LP running for House of Assembly seats in Anambra should impeach Governor of the state, Charles Soludo.

He also charged the LP assembly candidates vying for numerous seats across state house of assemblies to brace up to victory.

The former governor of Anambra state gave the charge during a closed-door meeting with the house of assembly candidates in Awka, stressing that he is not asking anybody to impeach any governor.

Obi, who addressed pressmen after the meeting said he appealed to them to work cohesively with the state governor when they attain victory.

His comment was in reaction to a viral video of Soludo saying he will not work with members of other political parties, who emerge in the House of Assembly.

Obi said; “We are not urging anyone to impeach any other person. We held a meeting with our assembly members, and we are calling on Nigerians to vote for Labour Party.

“We are not asking anyone to impeach anyone. People should not be afraid of impeachment. We only seek to get things right in Nigeria.”

Meanwhile, Peter Obi earlier promised Nigerians that he will not deceive them like politicians did in the past when trying to get into office.

Obi made the promise on Monday while addressing party members and supporters during his campaign rally at the Muhammed Dikko Stadium, Katsina.

The former Governor of Anambra state also vowed to tackle hunger, insecurity and unemployment if elected president in February.

He appealed to the electorates to have faith in him and his party as they are ready to serve the country with all the strength in them.

Obi said; “People, through us, have chosen to build a new Nigeria. When we have security, we shall open our borders. Ours is to sack poverty in Nigeria. We cannot fight poverty without opening our borders but we shall put in place adequate security first.

“We know you have always been deceived by the people you voted for in the past. We in the Labour Party will not deceive you. We appeal to you to vote for us and I assure you, we will not deceive you.

“We shall fight hunger; we shall fight poverty and we shall ensure that there is security in Katsina and all parts of the country.

“We however appeal to you to please vote for us to deliver all the good things we have for you. We assure you of our commitment if you vote for us.”
