Doctor conscripted into army and sent to frontline for criticising Burkina Faso president

A Burkinabe medical doctor who criticised Burkina Faso president, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, has been deployed to the battle front.

He had lashed out at Traoré for the way the military was handling the insecurity in the country, so the president got him arrested and conscripted into the armed forces.

According to security expert, Zagazola, Traoré deployed the doctor to the frontline to see the reality of terrorism closely.

Photos which surfaced online showed the throwback of the medical doctor in his work coat and a recent one of him in army uniform holding an AK-47 rifle.

A group of terrorists have held a peace parley with the people of Fankama village in Katsina State, SaharaReporters reports.

A Facebook user, Jagaban Matasan Arewa, who claimed to be a senior special assistant to the Minister of State for Petroleum, said the meeting took place on Saturday.

He shared photos on his Facebook page on Sunday and it showed the terrorists showing up at the parley in Fankama village, heavily armed.

“Saturday 16/09/2023, there was a meeting between terrorists and people of town in Fankama village in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

“As seen in the pictures here is the young man with the weapons and military equipment. No regret but the joy is that there was peace and understanding. May Allah make it easy for us to have peace,” Matasan wrote.
