The Lagos state police command have allegedly arrested popular Disc Jockey, Obianuju Catherine Udeh, better known as DJ Switch.
It was gathered that Switch who has been out of Nigeria since the ENDSARS protest in 2020, was arrested for obstructing a police officer on duty in the state.
The police is said to be taking her to the Magistrate court in Eti-Osa, where she will be arraigned for assault and obstruction of duty.
A police source told Linda Ikeji Blog that the DJ visited a police station in Elemoro, Ajah, on Monday, April 15, to complain about a man who allegedly defrauded her and the man was arrested.
The source disclosed that DJ Switch was invited on Wednesday, April 17, to inquire from her the details of the incident, to decide whether the accused should be charged to court or released on bail, as it is against the law to detain an accused for more than 48 hours.
But the Disc Jockey and winner of X Factor, insisted the accused should make an apology, which would be recorded and shared on social media, but the man refused.
However, the police finding it hard to resolve the matter amicably, decided to take the case to court since both parties were not bulging.
The source further claimed that while officers were about to drive out with the accused to court, DJ Switch used her vehicle to block the entrance of the station and allegedly assaulted the female officers attached to the case, after which she was arrested.
