De Bruyne addresses claims of him writing Drake’s song

Manchester City star, Kevin De Bruyne has broken silence amid claims by fans that he is one of the co-writers of Canadian rapper, Drake’s new song, ‘Wick Man,’.

When Drake’s track was released, credit was given to a “K. De Bruyne” as one of the writers of ‘Wick Man’ off the musician’s latest project, ‘Scary Hours 3’ and this led many to believe the midfielder has a hidden songwriting talent.

But the Belgium captain took to his Twitter page on Friday and joked about his contribution to the song by sharing a photo of him and Drake, and a screenshot of the song credit.

He captioned; ”@Drake needed an assist.”

In a follow-up tweet, De Bruyne who revealed that he is a huge fan of the rap star, however, clarified that he wasn’t the one credited on the song.

He wrote, “All jokes aside, it’s not me! Huge fan though!”

Rising Nigerian Afrobeats and Hip Hop artiste, Crown Uzama, professionally known as Shallipopi, has revealed that all his songs are freestyles.

The 23-year-old TikTok phenomenon said that he does not write music and everything he releases is straight from his head, including hit songs like Elon Musk and Obapluto.

Shallipopi made the revelation in a recent interview with OAP Dotun on Cool 96.9 FM, adding that even the ones that look written are all freestyles.

The singer also revealed that he recorded, produced and mastered all the tracks on his Planet Pluto EP in just two hours.

He noted that he takes his music serious, but also said that the reason he writes is because the music would sound too professional.

Speaking further about social media media comments, he said he does not get offended by criticism or attacks and there are many posts from fans that he loves.
