Nigerian music stars, David ”Davido” Adeleke, Raoul John Njeng-Njeng better known as Skales, Praise Adejo aka Praiz and Super Eagles player, John Ogu have taken to social media to call out actor turned lawmaker, Desmond Eliiot for speaking on the need to regulate social media.

CorrectNG reported earlier that a video capturing the moment Elliot, the lawmaker representing Surulere constituency in Lagos, allegedly called for social media regulation surfaced online.

But Elliot, days back, denied allegations that he was supporting regulation and control of free speech on social media after being called out by Twitter Influencer, Dr Olufunmilayo.

“In the next five years, there will be no Nigeria if we don’t act now”, he said in the new video.

He also lamented over how children placed curses on politicians on social media without any iota of respect.

“Culture has gone”, he decried.

After the video leaked, the actor cum politician became a top trending gist on Twitter as Nigerians and celebrities alike joined in criticising him.

Davido wrote; “Desmond Elliot just destroyed all the precious child hood memories he gave us in movies …”

John Ogu said; “Desmond Elliot called us all CHILDREN . Just imagine!!!!

I’m happy he has advised we go get our PVC . E go shock them all when the time reach.

The same Social media you used in campaigning, the same Influencers he paid to campaign for him and the same youth who voted for him have all turned CHILDREN in his eyes.”

Skales tweeted; “Desmond Elliot tho… can’t trust anyone in politics Kai Man facepalming e fall my hand”.
