Davido reacts months after critic predicted he’d never get Grammy nomination

Nigerian superstar singer, David Adeleke also known as Davido, he has finally given a response two months after a troll said he would never be nominated for a Grammy Award.

Recall that last November, the ‘FIA’ crooner bagged a total of three nominations in the list of nominees for the 66th Grammys second to self-acclaimed African Giant, Burna Boy.

A critic known as @truthsaves01 on Twitter (X) said on October 16, 2023, that the decision by the DMW boss to submit his songs for consideration was proof that he didn’t know what he was doing.

He described Davido as a B-list artiste and stated that his most recent album, Timeless was the ‘most directionless’.

He wrote; “Davido submitting his songs & project for Grammy consideration shows he actually doesn’t know what he’s doing.

“Timeless” is one of the most directionless album I have ever seen been released by a B list artist like Davido. Davido should brace up cos he’s getting ZERO Noms.”

Meanwhile, CorrectNG recalls that Davido took to social media in November 2023 to celebrate after he finally got nominated for a Grammy Award.

His fourth studio album, ‘Timeless’ was nominated in the Best Global Music Album category. While ‘Unavailable’ was nominated in the Best African Music Performance.

The singer’s melodious tune, ‘Feel’ got the final nomination under the Best Global Music Performance category.

Celebrating his achievement via his official Twitter page, the Omo Baba Olowo wrote; “3 nominations at the Grammys! Delay is not denial!”.

Davido contests with his compatriot, Burna Boy and Arooj Aftab, Silvana Estrada, Béla Fleck, Falu and Gaurav Shah for the Best Global Music Performance gong.

He would also lock horns with Burna Boy, Susana Baca, Shakti, and Bokante in the Best Global Music Album category.

In the Best African Music Performance category, he will face off with familiar names – Asake, Ayra Starr, Burna Boy and South Africa’s Tyla.
