Davido arrives in Qatar for World Cup performance (Video)

Nigerian music star, David ”Davido” Adeleke has arrived in Qatar for his scheduled performance at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

A video making the rounds online shows the singer alighting from his private jet with a blanket bearing his late son Ifeanyi Adeleke’s face.

CorrectNG reported earlier that Davido is set to make his first stage performance this month at the closing ceremony of the world cup.

Hong Kong businessman, Stephen Hung confirmed this via a post on his official Instagram page on Thursday, 8th December.

He shared a photo of the Afrobeats star and expressed eagerness to see him perform on the global stage.

Hung wrote, “So happy my bro @davido confirmed he will perform at the World Cup Qatar closing ceremony. Can’t wait to see him there.”

In the trending video, OBO could be seen in company of his lawyer, Prince Bobo Ajudua, Ubi Franklin and DJ ECool.

Davido was initially scheduled to perform at the World Cup opening ceremony but, unfortunately, could not make it due to the demise of 3-year-old son, Ifeanyi.

The DMW boss will reportedly perform the Qatar World Cup anthem ‘Hayya Hayya (Better Together)’ at the closing ceremony on Sunday, December 18, 2022.

The 30-year-old will grace the stage with American singers, Trinidad Cardona and Qatar singer, Aisha.

Other music stars like Jennifer Lopez and Shakira have earlier performed at FIFA World Cup closing ceremonies.

It may be recalled that Davido lost his son in November, and he maintained radio silence for a while. He made his first appearance at a barbershop to get a haircut after weeks in mourning and then another major one when he came out to support his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, during his inauguration ceremony as the governor of Osun State.
