Cristiano Ronaldo to miss game against Inter Miami

Cristiano Ronaldo will not be available for Al Nassr’s friendly with long-term rival Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami on Thursday.

Al Nassr head coach, Luis Castro confirmed this to reporters on Wednesday, January 31 as he disclosed that it is due to a calf injury.

Castro said Ronaldo is not fully recovered, so the game will be played without him at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh.

“Cristiano is in the final part of his recovery to join the group. We expect that he can begin to work with the team in the next few days. He will be an element that will be absent from the game,” he said.

It had been billed as the final club meeting between Messi and Ronaldo, two supreme footballers who dominated European football for a decade.

CorrectNG reported earlier that Inter Miami forward, Lionel Messi said he is one of the few players who has achieved everything in football.

“If a movie had to be made, no one would have thought of it like that. That it happened the way it did after everything that had happened, the disappointments in the Copa América and World Cups, was extraordinary, impressive.

“She (The World Cup) is the most desired by everyone. Anyone dreams big and the biggest thing is to be a champion with your national team. I was lucky to achieve everything at the club level in Barcelona and also at the individual level. It was the only one I was missing. There are few players who can say they achieved everything. And thank God I’m one of them.

“With effort, sacrifice, work, and humility, in the end, you achieve your goals. The road can be hard, but you have to keep fighting for your dreams to try to achieve them. Sometimes it happens, other times it doesn’t, but you never have to stop to try it. I love playing ball, I love coming to the national team, I love being on the premises and before I couldn’t enjoy it like today,” Messi said.
