A member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) known as Leche Winfred Maagawa has brought joy to the hearts of students at a school in Lushi community, Bauchi state.
Winifred revealed that she is a 2019 Batch C corps member posted to do her one year mandatory service in Bauchi state.
In a recent post via her Twitter account, the NYSC member said she saw children sitting on the floor to learn in a government school in the state and she decided to help in the way that her efforts and resources can provide.
She then set to work and made 50 desks for them.
The corper who sought to bring the situation to the public and inspire others to follow in her foot steps, shared different pictures of the stage of production up to its final delivery to the school.
She was creative enough to upcycle bike tyres, paint them into reds, greens, and yellows and convert into sitting pads on wooden chairs.
Sharing the photos, she wrote;
“I’m a 2019 Batch C Corps Member serving in Bauchi State. I saw a government school in a community where the children sit on the floor to learn and I made 50 desks for them.”
