Content creator re-arrested for pretending to smoke like Naira Marley regains freedom
Nigerian artiste and content creator, Muri Pounds has been released from police custody after he was arrested for bragging in a video that he does hard drugs like his role model.
This is the second time he is being arrested for imitating rapper, Naira Marley’s style of smoking cannabis and other strands as the first time was in May.
The up-and-coming singer casually posts videos of himself holding blunt and saying that he is just like the Marlian Music boss, but his most recent one landed him in cell.
However, his lawyer has secured his release, with the police warning him never to talk about smoking loud or drinking codeine. Following the fulfilment of his bail condition, Muri dropped a new track without delay, where he advised youths against doing drugs.
A video which surfaced online shows when policemen were interrogating him in the station about the type of drugs he takes. The new track Muri released is titled; Why Smoking, and he argued that he is not an ex-convict.

Meanwhile in May 2023…
CorrectNG reported that Muri claimed that he was arrested over a video he posted online where he was reenacting a scene of rapper, Naira Marley.
He said that he only acted as if he was smoking Igbo in the clip which circulated online but it was interpreted as him promoting drug abuse. Muri lamented that he had just been released from detention even though he did not do anything wrong.
The footage which allegedly got him into trouble was a recreation of Naira Marley reacting to Mohbad’s allegation that he was assaulted. Recall that few months ago, Mohbad accused his ex-boss, Naira of unleashing boys on him when he made some requests which the music executive did not like.
After that, the Marlian Music boss shared a video on social media where he refuted the allegation and was smoking weed while saying; ”Nobody beat Mohbad…”
It was that last scene Muri mimicked and posted on the internet that allegedly made security agents seek him out. He said he does smoke and he only did it just because he wanted to trend.
Surprisingly, while he was crying about being arrested, the young man was still smoking something believed to be the same substance.
