Coach leaves residents in awe as he swims entire length of Third Mainland Bridge (Video)

A Nigerian swimming coach identified as Dare Akinrodoye is being lauded for achieving an incredible feat that some say is worthy of being in the book of Guinness World Records.

The young man successfully swam the entire length of Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos, from one end of the river beneath to the other end.

Dare popularly known as Coach Dreh took on the risky endurance task on Saturday, 30th of March, 2024, in a bid to raise awareness for suicide and depression.

In a video making the rounds on social media, he recounted how he was once depressed and contemplated svicide but he picked an interest in swimming and it served as an escpe frm the thought of ending his life.

The coach explained that his choice location for the event was because most individuals who committed svicide in the public usually jumped off the Third Mainland Bridge.

Lagos state commissioner for youth and sports, Mobolaji Ogunlende attended the event which also had many spectators and medical team on standby in case of emergencies.

It was gathered that the entire length of the bridge which he swam is a total of 11.8 kilometers, and he did so without stopping, completing the swim in 2 hours and 33 minutes.
