The 27-year-old has been a subject of transfer speculation following his impressive performance for Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON. He also made two penalty saves in the shoot-out against South Africa in the quarterfinals.
In light of his impressive performances, Saudi club, El-Ettifaq, Sky Bet Championship side, Queens Park Rangers and Kaizer Chiefs are among the clubs reportedly interested in the shot stopper.
Speaking to Idiskitimes.co.za, Nwabali said; “The transfer window is going to open soon, but for me, I wish to take a step forward; I don’t know if it will be South Africa or Europe.
“I played well for my club [Chippa United] this season, they also wished me to go play in a bigger team. Even if it’s South Africa or Europe I will play. I’m not saying goodbye yet, most big teams are looking for me, and most people are looking for me.”
Meanwhile, CorrectNG reported earlier that the goalie gave a big hint on what he wants for himself at the end of this summer.
Following the final game of the season – a 2-0 defeat to Orlando Pirate – Nwabali said; “Well, everyone would love to leave because when you are in some position, you need to grow. Like everyone in my position, I would like to grow more.
I’m talking about clubs higher than this [Chippa United] because I have been giving my all to my club this season. I just wish to have another challenge at some other place”.
