Chaos erupted at a Customary Court in Obukpa, Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State when two lawyers got into a fight.
A video circulating on social media platforms capture the litigants picking up chairs to duel it out during the altercation while shouting at the top of their voices.
Their actions left fellow lawyers and court workers in a state of bewilderment, but they swiftly intervened to prevent the brawl from escalating.
One of them could be heard saying; “He is a very small boy… He is a mad man,” to which the second lawyer sternly warned, “Touch me again…”
The exchange continued with retorts such as, “Who touched you? Look at this mad man,” from the first lawyer, who subsequently began walking out of the courtroom. The second lawyer who couldn’t resist the parting shot, added; “Look at you. You have bleached yourself like a fool. You have bleached yourself like a woman”.

It was not clear what led to the squabble between the two lawyers whose, names are yet to be revealed are both from the area.
Reacting to the incident, Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Nsukka branch, Barr Ferdinand Ugochukwu Ukwueze, said it was ”embarrassing.”
“The bar is trying to find out what happened that led to that unfortunate display of some recklessness. We are looking into it really,” he said.
The NBA boss also said there would most likely be sanctions for the lawyers “because it doesn’t represent the nobility with which we are known. Once we get to the root of the matter, the bar at the national level, our disciplinary committee will step in.”
