Burna Boy renovates orphanage home in Port Harcourt (Photos)

Top Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, better known by his stage name, Burna Boy, has reportedly renovated ‘Cheshire’ orphanage home in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.

A member of his 7Gang crew identified as Benny made the disclosure though Twitter (X) on Friday 1st of March as he also shared photos of the upgraded building.

He said Burna Boy’s humanitarian project was coordinated in partnership with a non-government organization known as The Reach.

Benny wrote: “An orphanage home, ‘Cheshire Home’ in Port Harcourt, has been fully renovated. The project was FULLY funded by Burna Boy, implemented by The Reach NG, and will be commissioned today. Let’s say a word of prayer for ODG in the replies.”

As at the time of filing this report, Burna Boy, is however, yet to confirm or deny the claim made by his close associate.

The ‘African Giant’s kind gesture also stirred debate on social media because it comes days after a similar gesture from his counterpart, Davido.

CorrectNG reported earlier that superstar singer, David Adeleke aka Davido announced the donation of the sum of N300 million to orphanages across Nigeria this year.

He made the pledge on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, while explaining that the outreach will be coordinated through his foundation. He explained that he was keeping up with the annual tradition of contributing to the nation that was started few years ago. He said details of the disbursement will be unveiled soon.

The musician wrote; “I and my foundation pledge the sum of 300 million Naira to orphanages around Nigeria … as my yearly contribution to the Nation ❤️ .. details of disbursement tomorrow 🇳🇬”

The Grammy nominated artiste later shared the details of the disbursement of N306 million to orphanage homes in the country.

The fund was distributed to 158 orphanages in the 36 states and Federal Capital Territory as contained in the official statement by the David Adeleke foundation.
