Controversial Nigerian singer, Brymo has asserted that Grammy-winning artiste, Damini Ogulu professionally known as Burna Boy is unoriginal, cheap and fake.
He stated this in an interview with TVC News, where he also accused the self acclaimed African Giant of being a thief.
Brymo said every song released by Burna Boy is a sample of another artiste’s song and most of his slogans are stolen.
The ‘Ara’ crooner, who wondered how the ‘Last Last’ hit-maker won a Grammy award with his type of music, said he finds it funny that Burna Boy sees himself as the Jesus of Afrobeat.
He also said Afrobeats is a music style not a genre, and it is Afrobeat pioneered by late Fela Kuti that is a genre.
Brymo alleged that Wizkid, Burna Boy and Davido are thieves who stole Fela’s music genre and reinvented it by giving adding S to Afrobeat without knowing how much struggle he went through while creating it.
The 37-year-old singer said that the new generation acts ruin genres when by primarily trying to rename what the older generation did instead of having continuity.
