Musician and record producer, Oluwafemi Oladapo, professionally known as Slimcase, has opined that Afrobeats superstar, Burna Boy is still a new artiste.
The ‘Shaku Shaku’ crooner told Tacha during an interview on Cool FM, Lagos, that Burna Boy always sounds new to him despite spending over a decade in the music industry.
Slimcase was asked to list his five new artistes that he loves and he mentioned the self acclaimed African Giant as number 1, despite tagging him a newbie.
According to the singer, Grammy winning artiste, Wizkid, Omah Lay, Davido and Wizard Chan are his other favourite new artistes.
Slimcase said; “The top five artists I am feeling right now, Burna Boy is number one. He is still a new artist. He is always new to me everyday. I am also feeling Wizard Chan, Omah Lay, Wizkid, and Baddest [Davido]. These are the five people that I am listening to right now.”

CorrectNG recalls that ace Nigerian singer, David Adeleke also known as Davido, sent the internet into a frenzy last year when he stated that he and , Wizkid were the first young artistes to become successful.
The Omo Baba Olowo claimed that everybody is aware of this and noted that he was excited to see “new cats” dominating the music industry.
Davido grouped Burna Boy, Rema, Fireboy, Mayorkun and Asake as the ‘new cats’ who came after him and Wizkid.
He said; “Everybody knows that I was one of the first, Wizkid and I were the first young artistes to blow up and it feels good seeing new cats like Burna Boy, Rema, Fireboy, Mayorkun.
You know a lot of new cats coming, killing it…Asake who was on my album. So, yes, I think the future of Afrobeat is in good hands.”
