Former Science and Technology minister and All Progressives Congress, APC presidential aspirant in the 2023 election, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu is dead.
It was learnt that Onu, who was the first civilian governor of Abia State, died after a brief illness in an undisclosed hospital in Abuja on Thursday.
The ex-minster who served under former President Muhammadu Buhari, made his last public appearance at the APC primary election in 2022 when he alleged injustice against the people of Southeast.
Buhari had appointed Onu as the Minister of Science and Technology in November 2015 until his resignation in 2022.
Onu, however, resigned his position on May 6, 2022, to join the APC presidential race, which he lost to President Bola Tinubu.
