Meanwhile, a Federal High Court in Lagos state, two weeks ago, sentenced Bobrisky, to six months in jail without the option of fine.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, had arraigned him on four counts of naira abuse and money laundering.

The court, earlier dismissed the money laundering charges but convicted Bobrisky for Naira Abuse after he confessed to the crime.

Justice Abimbola Awogboro held that the judgement will serve as a deterrence to others who are fond of abusing and mutilating the Nigerian currency.
