Bishop Feyi Daniels sentenced to life imprisonment for raping church member

An Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence court in Lagos has sentenced Daniels Oluwafeyiropo aka Bishop Feyi Daniels, to life imprisonment for raping a church member.

The trial judge, Rahman Oshodi found the founder of iReign Christian Ministry guilty of rape and sexual assault of a female worshipper for which he also bagged 3 years imprisonment

Both sentences are to run concurrently. His name will be registered in the Sexual Offenders Register as maintained by Lagos State.

Though Feyi pleaded not guilty, the applicant led in evidence by Lagos State counsel, Babajide Boye, said the bishop, whom she regarded as her spiritual father, raped her at his residence in Ikota Villa Estate, Lekki, Lagos on June 21, 2020.

While fielding questions under cross-examination, Boye also accused the defendant, Feyi Daniels of using his position as a Pastor to manipulate persons who come to him for counseling.

“You are a man of God. Are you not? A powerful man of God. You get trained to counsel, and you use wisdom and the leading of the spirit to manipulate,” he asked.

However, Daniels denied this allegation, saying; “I am not a powerful man; I am a pastor. I do not use power to counsel people; I am not a manipulator.”

Meanwhile, in his ruling, Justice Oshodi held that prosecution established the ingredients of two offences. He said Daniels is a liar and does not have any regard for truth.
