BBNaija’s Vee cries out after being scammed by plumber, vows to get him jailed

Big Brother Naija 2020 contestant, Victoria Adeleye also known as Vee has claimed that a plumber she hired scammed her of over N130,000 for a poorly done job.

She revealed that he collected N150,000 in different installments for a job of fixing the tap in her house that should cost N20,000.

The reality TV star took to her Twitter page to rant on Wednesday while narrating what happened. According to her, the tap he fixed spoilt kept spoiling every week, so she had to keep calling him back and paying for each service.

Vee said it spoilt again two days ago and she called another plumber who told her that the previous one was only turning off her water from outside while charging her for work each time she called him. The singer vowed to get her plumber arrested and sent to jail.

She wrote; “My plumber scammed me and collected 150k for a 20k job and one IDIOT is telling me it’s because “everyone is hungry” He will eat in jail. I don’t even mind that people are making excuses or laughing btw, because this kind of wickedness will surely touch everyone if we don’t start holding badly behaved people responsible.

I complained that my kitchen tap wasn’t working. He came to fix it. I told him to replace my kitchen tap too. He said the tap was 15k, a few parts and workmanship made the total 25k. I paid no questions asked.

My tap stopped working again less than 1 week after. He said there was something wrong with the filter. The whole thing came up to about 22k. He “fixed” it. I paid.

2 weeks later, my tap stopped running again. He said he wanted to connect my kitchen water to a different pumping machine, buy some pipes. I let him do his work because I know NOTHING about plumbing. He finished and said the total was 95k. I paid.

My tap stopped working again 2 days ago. I didn’t call him or inform in him IN ANY WAY, because I wanted to get another plumber. This fool called me yesterday saying that he suspects that my filter is blocked. I told him to come and check regardless.

He came to my apartment today and said he wants to change the filter for 46k. I said no, called someone else and that person told me the plumber was simply turning off my water from outside. There was NOTHING wrong with my sink.

I live by myself. So I have zero knowledge of anything. I grew up in a completely different environment, so I tend to give people the benefit of doubt. So I never suspected anything. I hate how Nigerians have normalised this kind of behaviour.

I hate ranting because people genuinely don’t care about you, but we need to do better. I don’t play with people’s money and I believe everyone should be paid fairly, times are hard and people are hungry. BUT PLEASE FEAR GOD because you will come across the wrong one.”

In similar news, Nigerian model and beauty consultant, Ciata Jolie, has cried out after being scammed by a man she transacted business with out of trust.

The entrepreneur revealed in a video on her Instagram page that she was scammed of all her life savings in less than a month. She said that she had saved for a very long time for several years and after she lost the money, she has experienced tough times this year.

Ciata said that her dream was to have a landed property and in December 2022, she took money she saved to her hometown.

She said that she saw a piece of land in her state and approached the owner who revealed that he inherited the land from his father. According to the makeup artiste, te guy gave her assurance that he is trust worthy and has undergone traditional rites to ensure he lives a honest life.

Ciata believed him because he was very convincing, so she gave him the first payment of N4 million, after which he signed the necessary documents. Unfortunately for her, when she started fencing the land in January 2023, her father joined her in working on the land.

She explained that before she started work on the land, she paid N400,000 out of which N350,000 was development fee. The young lady said as she was preparing to leave the village, she got a phone call from someone who laid claim to the same land.

She was thrown off balance, and worse off the other man claiming ownership drew a skull like figure on the fence to ward off people. Ciata said she later discovered that the land had been sold before and the person she paid N4million was notorious for running that kind of land sale scam which she was a victim of.

In sharing her woes, the lady advised others not to allow themselves be fooled by religion or any other beliefs.
