Banker who committed su!cide also did shoe business to make ends meet – Businessman reveals

A businessman has claimed that the bank worker who recently ended her life at her place of work in Lagos, engaged in side business to complement her bank job.

Amarachi Ugochukwu, a marketing staff was found dead after consuming insecticide in the restroom of the commercial bank where she worked in Ikorodu.

She left behind a note detailing the reasons for her decision, which include the hardship in the country and inability to meet her office target.

“Nothing is working in my life. My figures are low. My brain is clogged up. The economy is getting harder. My decisions are wrong. My mind is messed up. The future doesn’t seem bright at all. I see extreme hardship. I can’t bear the pain anymore,” Amarachi’s note read.

Lagos banker suicide

Following her sad demise, a Facebook user, Folusho Adebisi recalled the deceased lady engaged in shoe making alongside her bank job to survive.

He described Amarachi as a friendly and hardworking person, and narrated how she patronised his son, Tiwalade’s footwear business.

Adebisi wrote; “Tiwalade, my son, woke me up this morning to the terrible news trending online about a young lady, Amarachi Ugochukwu, a banker committing su!cide. Amarachi was a friend of Tiwalade and a customer of his business, Donetsk Footwear Limited. I had met Amarachi on a few occasions when she came for deliveries at Donetsk Footwear during the festivities.

“Amarachi was a young lady, friendly, amiable and hardworking, a lady cobbler that combined her stressful job of a banker with another stressful business of shoemaking and marketing. I read she left a su!cide note complaining of a hard life, hard economy etc.”
