A man who volunteered to deliver ransom to kidnappers to secure the freedom of a victim in Kaduna State, has been kidnapped.
The volunteer who is a a retired school principal was taking the ransom to the abductors in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of the state, but upon reaching there, they held him hostage.
Former Nigerian senator, Shehu Sani announced the unfortunate incident in post on his verified Twitter account on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.
The former who represented the Kaduna Central Senatorial District, said the man (name unidentified) has been in captivity for at least three days.
He wrote; “A retired School principal who volunteered to deliver ransom to kidnappers in order to secure the release of a victim has also been held by the kidnappers in Birnin Gwari LG, Kaduna state.
“He has been in captivity for three days now; the abductors made calls to his family for his ransom”.

CorrectNG recalls tha a Nigerian woman reportedly kidnapped last December regained her freedom after few days, following the payment of ransom to her abductors.
This was made known by her friend, Dev Tobs, who raised an alarm about the abduction on microblogging platform, Twitter on December 5.
The young man said N20 million ransom was paid to secure her release and she has been reunited with her family.
“God !! God!! Thank you !! My friend is back home !!! Got bailed with 20m +, My fear for NG just tripled. Crazzy !!!!! 💔” he wrote.
Tobs had revealed that the lady tried several times to get a visa for years, but failed, sadly, now that she’s gotten it, kidnappers have taken her.
He said she secured the visa this year and was supposed to leave Nigeria on 17th of December only for the abduction to happen.
DevTobs wrote; “My friend got kidnapped!!!!. She has consistently failed at getting a visa for years to come up here, she luckily got it this year and was set to move on the 17th. Now they’ve kidnapped her. NG is just…… I don’t even know how to feel💔💔”
