Ban government officials from international travel – Ben Bruce tells Tinubu

Former senator, Ben Murray-Bruce has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to issue an executive order halting all international travel of government officials for one year.

Murray-Bruce issued the advice in a post via his Twitter (X) handle on Monday, empasising that it should apply in all cases except on special approval for matters of critical national interest.

The media executive, however, added that the international ban would not apply to External Affairs, Finance, and National Security.

Explaining further, he said when international travel is authorised, officials must fly with Nigerian airlines unless there’s no available service on that route. He further advised Tinubu to ensure that all official international meetings should be conducted over Zoom.

Murray-Bruce wrote; “President Bola Tinubu should issue an executive order to halt all international travel for one year for everyone in the federal government unless he grants special approval for matters critical to the national interest.

“This International travel ban should apply to the entire Federal Cabinet, all heads of agencies, and all civil servants. This rule would not apply to External Affairs, Finance, and National Security.”
