Atiku hasn’t called or sent message over Ibadan explosion – Makinde says as he receives Peter Obi (Video)

Governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde has revealed that the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, is yet to commiserate with him over the recent explosion in Ibadan.

Makinde who is of the PDP, made the disclosure while hosting the Presidential Candidate of Labour Party PDP, during a courtesy visit on Monday, January 29.

It may be recalled that there was an explosion at Bodija Housing Estate in Ibadan over two weeks ago and five persons died, 77 sustained varying degrees of injuries, while no fever than 50 houses were destroyed.

Makinde lamented that he is yet to receive a condolence call or text message from the leader of his party the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, since the incident occurred.

He said; “You came here to commiserate with us over the explosion. I am particularly grateful because the President has reached out to me, you also have reached out to me but my own party candidate (Atiku), not even a call or a text message.

“I am saying this openly because our leaders should know that they need to have time for politics and humanity too.”

The governor said investigation to fully unravel the mystery behind the incident is currently ongoing.

“Investigations are still going on, it was an issue of illegal miners storing explosive devices in an environment where they should not be kept,” he added.
