ASUU locks up LASU campus after reopening, Nigerians react

Emerging reports suggest that Lagos State University, LASU was locked up on Monday by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, moments after reopening, in line with the COVID-19 presidential task force directive for schools to resume.

Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU, Non-Academic Staff Union and the National Association of Academic Technologists all took to the university’s campus gate to lock it up in protest, stating that all varsities will remain locked until the federal government meets its demands.

Recall that Lagos state government had directed academic activities for final year students resume on Monday, September 14, 2020.

Nigerians on hearing of the incident took to social media to react.
