Asake finally meets look-alike who posed as him at Wizkid’s concert

Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Asake has finally met a young man who paraded himself as him during a show early this month.

When Asake was in Manchester, UK for his concert in December, the fake Asake appeared at Wizkid’s show in Ghana and pretended to be the real one.

The ‘Organize’ crooner had been listed among the performing acts at the music event in Ghana but he was abroad at the time, so rather than say he could not show, the organisers decided to use a lookalike to perform in his place.

The duo finally linked up in Ghana on Thursday during Afrochella and it happened that while Asake was performing his song, Joha, he brought the fake version on stage.

A video making the rounds online shows when the YBNL signee was singing while his doppelganger danced to he entertainment of fans.

He eventually sent the fake Asake off the stage and continued with his performance.

In other entertainment news, Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Divine Ikubor better known as Rema made it to former United States President, Barack Obama’s favourite music playlist for the year 2022.

Two other Nigerians, Burna Boy and Ayra Starr also made the music list which Obama shared via his verified Twitter page on December 23, 2022.

The ex-president said Burna Boy’s ‘Last Last’, Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush’ and Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ are some of his favourite songs of the year.

Obama, in the post which was accompanied by the full playlist, said the year 2022 witnessed a lot of great songs.

He also asked followers to recommend songs and artistes that he should checkout asides from the 25 songs he listed from different artistes across the world.

Obama wrote; “I always enjoy sharing my end of year music playlist with all of you — and this year we heard a lot of great songs. Here are some of my favorites.

Are there any songs or artists I should check out?”

Reacting to the development, Rema thanked Obama for seeing him as someone worth listening to just like in 2019.

The ‘Ginger Me’ crooner said he feels the same way he felt in 2019 when his name also made the list.

He wrote; ”I feel the same way I did in 2019 when I saw my Name on this list, I’m very grateful. 🙏🏾❤️”
