Arsenal to likely lose Aubameyang to Real Madrid as Spanish giants pursue player

Gabonese striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is said likely be heading to Real Madrid as Arsenal are reportedly prepared to sell and get Luka Jovic in exchange. The Gunners are said to have told the forward they are willing to listen to offers for him, if he chooses to leave before his contract expires in 2021.

Aubameyang who was recently made captain by the club, have had an impressive time at the club since he joined from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018 – scoring 53 goals in just 83 appearances.

Diario Sport recently reported that Real Madrid’s LaLiga arch rivals Barcelona, were keen on making a transfer bid for the prolific North London-based 30-year-old striker, and that while Aubameyang might prefer a switch to Madrid a move to the Nou Camp is not completely out of the question.

According journalist Duncan Castles, representatives from both Arsenal and Real Madrid have already held discussions over a potential deal for the player, with the Spanish giants, prepared to pay in excess of €70m to, with an additional Luka Jovic moving to the Gunners as an extra incentive.

21-year-old Jovic joined Real Madrid from Eintracht Frankfurt in a €60m deal in the summer but has been a fringe figure to date this campaign, starting just three matches and scoring once. However, the Serb’s time at Eintracht Frankfurt saw him score 25 goals in 54 league appearances and also 2 goals in 7 appearances for the Serbian national team.
