Veteran Nollywood actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has undergone five surgeries which were all successful.
It may be recalled that Mr Ibu who celebrated his 63rd birthday on his hospital bed, called on the public to come to his aid as he was battling serious medical conditions and needed to settle the bills.
The Nollywood legend said had said that the ailment may cost him his leg. But in a recent update on his Instagram page, he said he had undergone successful five surgeries.
Mr Ibu added that he is still recovering in the ICU, and is waiting to get stabilized so he can fly abroad for further advanced treatment.
The actor appreciated the general public for their donations as he and said he is counting on them for their prayers and unwavering support.
The statement reads; “We want to thank God and most especially the General public for their support, encouragement, and prayers doing this trying period for our dad.
We called on Good Nigerians and we are very grateful for the response in every aspect most especially the donations, it came in very timely and very helpful.
So far, Daddy has gone through 5 successful surgeries, and he is still recovering in the ICU. Daddy is immensely grateful and we are thankful to the general public during this phase of our lives.
We appreciate all the donations made to this account, and as soon as Daddy is better he will personally acknowledge all donations respectively!
