Adamawa police arrest man with 13 missing ATM cards

The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed that it arrested a man, Abubakar Tasi’u Tanimu with 13 ATM cards allegedly stolen from residents.

In a press statement by Public Relations officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje on Tuesday, police said the suspect was picked up last Friday, December 29, 2023, by operatives attached to the Department of State Intelligence

The police spokesperson said they apprehended Tanimu while on surveillance patrol around Jambutu Motor Park, Jimeta, Yola.

He said; “Investigation reveals that the suspect stole the items from Tsohon Kasuwa Mayo Belwa Local Government Area”.

According to Nguroje, the ATM cards issued to authentic owners from different banks, were stolen from a market in Mayo-Belwa, a local government area in the southern part of Adamawa State.

The suspect was also found with additional items, including 1 National ID Card, a wallet containing currency, and an Itel P551w phone.

The Police spokesperson stated that 31-year-old Tanimu, a resident of the Tsohon Kasuwa neighbourhood will be charged in court upon completion of the investigation.
