Seasoned Nigerian actress, and TV personality, Iretiola Olusola Doyle has confirmed that she and her husband, Patrick Doyle are officially divorced.
She made the announcement during an interview with journalist, Chude Jideonwo as she narrated her marital journey.
Ireti said; “We are officially divorced.”
The actress who welcomed six children with Patrick, made clarification regarding the speculation that she had her first child at age 17, stating that she was 19.
Ireti recounted how she suffered physical and domestic violence as a teenager and said she had no business with marriage at that young age.
She shared a video of the interview on her page and wrote;
“There is a time to be silent and a time to speak. In this age where everything one says is scrutinised and quartered; it takes a certain level of trust to bare intimate details .. we are here now”
Speaking in the interview, the 55-year-old movie star said she moved out of her husband’s house to her apartment at Anthony Village in Lagos.
“The truth of the matter is that I had no business being married at that time, talk less of going to the choice of who I got married to.
“When you’re an adult, it’s not a life and death situation…there are some situations that are way beyond your control.
“I can’t sacrifice my life in the alter of your imagination or your fantasy,” she said.
