Nigerian Hip Hop artiste, Ruggedman, has disclosed that despite introducing colleague, 9ice to his wife (now ex), Toni Payne, he wasn’t invited to their wedding.
He said that before they got married, he never knew they had already fixed a wedding date and it was through Payne he found out.
Ruggedman, who featured 9ice on his breakout single, ‘Ruggedy Baba’ in 2008, shared the story during a recent interview with popular media personality, Chude Jideonwo.
The rapper said he received a call from 9ice’s ex-wife one fateful Saturday, informing him that it was their wedding day and that her husband instructed her not to invite him.
The rap star said; “I introduced 9ice to Toni Payne but 9ice didn’t invite me to his wedding with her. One Saturday morning, I woke up to a call from Toni Payne.
She was like, ‘Ahn ahnn! Where are you now?’ I said, ‘Where am I what? I am at home.’ She said they were getting married that day. I asked her why didn’t she tell me and she said she wanted to but 9ice said she shouldn’t tell me.”
Recall that 9ice and Toni Payne broke up 10 years ago after the singer accused her of having an extramarital affair with Ruggedman. The allegation led to a releases of diss tracks between 9ice and Ruggedman, who vehemently denied the allegations.

Few months ago Nigerian music executive, Michael Collins Ajereh professionally known as Don Jazzy cried out on social media about ‘missing his own wedding.’
The producer expressed dismay and shock when he learnt that someone printed invitations cards for a wedding ceremony using his nickname.
Don Jazzy shared a picture of the wedding IV on his Instagram page, and it showed that he was set to tie the knot with one Gbemisola on September 24th.
The Mavin Records boss pointed out that he must have missed the event since it happened last week and he was not in attendance.
He revealed that apart from the wedding IVs, they also dropped asoebi and a note from the bride’s father at the gate of his estate. Don Baba J then jokingly said the bride’s family probably married their daughter to him in absentia.
Jazzy wrote; “I’m confused. So apparently I missed my own wedding last week. See the invite and asoebi they left for my estate gate people. As I no gree marry maybe them don marry me in absentia o🙆🏾♂️🙆🏾♂️”
