There are some twin celebrities in Nigeria who have set the pace for other aspiring twins to follow. Some are identical twins while some are non identical. 

Here are 4 Nigerian celebrities who are twins 

4. Kehinde and Taiwo Bankole

Kehinde and Taiwo Bankole are non identical twins sisters and multiple award winning Nollywood actress, model and television host known for their role in the Wale Adenuga’s production series “Super Story”. 

Kehinde Bankole is a Nigerian actress, model and television host. She made her entertainment debut in the 2003 Miss Commonwealth Nigeria beauty contest, then proceeded to the 2004 Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant. She won the revelation of the year award at the 2009 Best of Nollywood Awards, two years after her first screen feature in Wale Adenuga’s Super story. She was born as the 4th child in a family of six. She has a twin sister “Taiwo” who also acts occasionally. 

Kehinde and Taiwo Bankole studied at Tunwase Nursery, Primary and secondary School in Ikeja, Lago State in the south western part of Nigeria.

After completing their primary and secondary school education, they got admitted into Olabis Onabanjo University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication. After graduating from the university, they delved into modeling before finally settling for acting and TV hosting. Kehinde and Taiwo Bankole host daytime talkshows including “Soul Sisters” and “African Kitchen”.

3. Chidinma and Chidiebere Aneke

Chidinma and Chidiebere Aneke are identical twins in the Nollywood industry popularly known as the Aneke twins. They were born in the south eastern part of Nigeria, precisely Enugu State and they are the last issue to the Aneke family. They are actresses and movie producers 

They were born on 6th August 1986 in Enugu State in the south eastern part of Nigeria. They are currently 32 years old. Chidinma and Chidiebere Aneke completed both their primary and secondary school education in Enugu State in the south eastern part of Nigeria and obtained both their First School Leaving Certificate and West African Senior School Certificate.

After completing their primary and secondary school education, Chidinma and Chidiebere Aneke proceeded to University of Nigeria Nsukka. Chidinma Aneke graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication while Chidiebere Aneke graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Banking and Finance.

The Aneke twins joined the Nollywood industry in 1999 and acted in the movie ‘Ebuka’ which happens to be their first movie. The movie ‘Ebuka’ gave them an edge in Nollywood. In 2004, the Aneke twins rose to fame with the movie ‘Desperate Twins’ which earned them the nomination for The Most Promising Acts to Watch at the African Magic Viewers’ Choice Award. They have acted in over 80 movies. They have produced many Nollywood movies such as; ‘Heart of Isiaku’, ‘Onochie’, ‘Broken Ambition’’, and ‘Adaora’.

Chidinma and Chidiebere Aneke rose to fame after starring in the Nollywood blockbuster movie “Desperate Twins” a movie that brought them to limelight and earned them a nomination for Most Promising Acts to Watch at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.

2. DNA Twins 

Clinton and Blair Roberts, officially and popularly known as DNA, are identical twins who were born on the 16th June 1996. Their family was polygamous, and they have eleven siblings. The boys attended Madonna Model Secondary School, Owerri in Imo State. .

These Nigerian all round entertainers are motivated and creative individuals who broke into the music scene and officially kicked off their music career after winning the prize for “Best Upcoming Teen Artiste” in the Nigerian Teen Choice Awards in 2013. 

They first gained popularity all over Nigeria when they went to audition for the Glo X-Factor competition. An interesting thing about their participation was that they auditioned right after the final exams from secondary school. They became the second band to be evicted from X-Factor, following their predecessors, The SmoothBoiz band.

After X-Factor, they tried to participate in other competitions, like “The Voice”. They did not win there too, but it definitely drove a lot of new fans and admirers to them.

The duo were officially announced as Mavin Records artistes on February 28, 2017 alongside two other talented new signings: Poe and Johnny Drille. Their first official single with the label, “How Can”, which was produced by Don Jazzy, is fast becoming a national anthem of sort among music lovers.

1. Peter and Paul Okoye (P-Square)

P-Square were a Nigerian duo of identical twin brothers Peter Okoye and Paul Okoye. They produced and released their albums through Square Records. In December 2011, they signed a record deal with Akon’s Konvict Muzik label. In May 2012, they signed a record distribution deal with Universal Music’s South African branch. On 25 September 2017, numerous media outlets reported that the group disbanded.

P-Square is originally from Ifite Dunu, a small village in Anambra State in the south eastern part of Nigeria. They are currently married with beautiful kids. After completing their primary school education, P-Square attended St. Murumba Secondary School, a small Catholic school in Jos, Plateau State in the northern part of Nigeria.

Although, they first thought of becoming footballers but later decided to establish a career in music after admiring the American pop legend, Michael Jackson.

The Okoye brothers have been at war with each other since 2017 and it is safe to say it has been one of the biggest celebrity fights recorded in the Nigerian music industry. From shading to actually insulting each other on social media, it has been one messy scandal that has rocked the entertainment industry. In an interview with Citizen TV in Kenya back in 2018, Peter said his twin brother will insult his wife and family at will in public and expect a performance with him without even an apology
