2023 Election: I’ll only vote if someone gives me money – Elderly woman (Video)

An elderly woman says she will only participate in the forthcoming general elections if she is given money.

She spoke during a street Vox Pop and noted that if no one gives her money then she will not cast her vote on election day.

According to her, she has a Permanent Voters Card and will sell her vote for a minimum of N20,000 and it is the politician who gives her money she will thumbprint on the ballot.

The woman further explained that nothing is being done for free in Nigeria anymore which is why she wants to collect money before she votes.

Watch her speak below:

Still on political matters, President Muhammadu Buhari declared that his administration has made it difficult for future elections to be rigged in Nigeria.

A statement by his spokesperson, Femi Adesina, said the president stated this while hosting West African Elders Forum Pre-Election Mediation Mission, led by former Sierra Leonean President, Dr Ernest Bai Koroma at the State House, Abuja.

Buhari also said Nigerians are now free to vote for whatever political party or whichever candidate they want in 2023.

He restated that the 2023 general elections would be free, fair and credible, as manipulations would not be allowed in any form.

The statement was titled “President Buhari to West African Elders: our election will be free, fair, credible.”

Buhari expressed thanks to his guests for their service to the sub-region as he cited the off-season elections held in Anambra, Ekiti and Osun States, as pointers to the Nigerian Government’s readiness to allow people to elect leaders of their choice.

He said; “Thank you for accepting to do this service for our sub-region. That right is a guarantee. We are settling down, and making progress. People should vote whoever they want, in whatever party.

We shall not allow anyone to use money and thugs to intimidate the people. Nigerians know better now, they are wiser, and know that it is better to dialogue than to carry weapons. Elections are even more difficult to rig now.”
