A young man, Emmanuel Tuloe has found his fortunes turn around for the best after he returned a huge sum of money that was lost.
The 18-year-old school dropout who makes a living as a bike rider had found $50,000 (N20m) on the road and returned it.
His honesty earned him lots of gifts from the owner of the money who happened to be a businesswoman.
According to Liberian Observer, the story of Emmanuel’s deed went viral and reached the ears of the President of Liberia George Weah, who has now rewarded the lucky man handsomely.
Weah reportedly gifted the young man $10,000 (N4m). In addition, Emmanuel was offered scholarship up to master’s level to study in any Liberian institution of his choosing, two motorcycles as well as a chance to work in the Presidential office.
Speaking during meeting with the boy, the president also announced plans to bestow on Emmanuel one of Liberia’s Highest Orders of Distinction while affirming that the scholarship will continue whether he (Weah) remains in power or not.
“This scholarship is personal from me and my family, and will be valid whether or not I am President of Liberia,” Weah said.
Recalling the incident, Emmanuel said when he found the money he was afraid because it was plenty.
