Last year, Nigerian journalist David Hundeyin revealed that the woman in his life is from East Africa and he deliberately chose not to date ladies from Nigeria.

He stated that he sees his partner as an equal and not something that needs to be domesticated, which is the problem with Nigerian women.

According to the investigative journalist, a lady who wants to be with a man would make it easy for him instead of acting and playing hard.

Hundeyin’s comment came few days after he showed off his lover on microblogging platform, Twitter, though he did not reveal her name.

He further said that the Nigerian perception of love involves mandatory financial transactions and bonding on a traumatic level.

He wrote; “I see my partner as an equal whom I can talk to and reason with, not as a wild animal whom I need to dominate and domesticate. That’s precisely why I’m with an East African partner. She makes me feel safe to be my real self with her, not our “Ija wa, ija o si, always guiding.”

I believe if someone wants to be with you, they will make it easy for you instead of acting as if you need to club them over the head and drag them home like a caveman. The Nigerian perception of “love” is BDSM + financial transactions with a sprinkle of emotional trauma bonding.”
