The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has announced 15 governors-elect so far.

Here is a list of the governors elected so far from the March 9 governorship and State Assembly elections.

1. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi – (PDP) Enugu State.

Lawrence Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is a Nigerian politician who was elected as the Executive Governor of Enugu State in April 2015 and was sworn in on 29 May 2015.

Born: 20 March 1964 (age 54 years)

2. David Umahi – (PDP) Ebonyi State

David Nweze Umahi is a Nigerian politician who is serving as the current Governor Of Ebonyi State, Nigeria

Born: 25 July 1963 (age 55 years)

3. Inuwa Yahaya (APC) Gombe State

Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, a Gombe state governorship aspirant on the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC), was former commissioner of Finance and community development in 2003

4. Muhammad Badaru (APC) Jigawa State

Mohammed Badaru Abubakar is the 4th democratically elected Governor of Jigawa State in Nigeria.

5. Okezie Ikpeazu (PDP) Abia State

Okezie Victor Ikpeazu is the 9th and current Governor of Abia State, in office since May 29, 2015. He was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.

6. Abubakar Bello (APC) Niger State

Abubakar Sani Bello also known as Lolo; He is a Nigerian politician and is the current Governor of Niger State, Nigeria

7. Seyi Makinde (PDP) Oyo State

Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde is a Nigerian Businessman, Politician and Philanthropist. He is the governor elect of Oyo State in South-western Nigeria. He is an Engineer and a subject matter expert on fluid and Gas Metering.

8. Emmanuel Udom (PDP) Akwa Ibom State

Udom Gabriel Emmanuel is the incumbent governor of Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria, in office since 29 May 2015. He ran successfully for the office of governor in the April 2015 elections on the platform of Akwa Ibom State People’s Democratic Party. Emmanuel was elected governor of Akwa Ibom State on 11 April 2015.

9. Prof. Ben Ayade (PDP) Cross River

Benedict Bengioushuye Ayade, is a Nigerian politician and the current Governor of Cross River State since 29 May 2015. He ran successfully for the office of Governor in April 2015 on the platform of People’s Democratic Party. Before that, he was a member of the 7th Senate of Nigeria.

11. Babajide Sanwo-Olu (APC) Lagos State

Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu is a Politician from Lagos State and the 2019 Lagos State gubernatorial election candidate for All Progressives Congress who contested and won the gubernatorial primaries under the All Progressives Congress against incumbent governor, Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State in October 2018.

12. Dapo Abiodun (APC) Ogun

Dapo Abiodun is a Nigerian businessman and politician, who is the Governor-elect of Ogun State in the 2019 general elections under the platform of the All Progressive Congress. Dapo Abiodun is the board Chairman of the Corporate Affairs Commission.

Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa is a Nigerian politician who is the incumbent Governor of Delta State. He was inaugurated as Governor on 29 May 2015 after winning the state elections conducted in April 2015.

14. Aminu Masari (APC) Katsina

Aminu Bello Masari is a Nigerian politician and current Governor of Katsina State. He was the speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives between 2003 and 2007. Masari hails from Katsina State.

15. Nasir El-Rufai (APC) Kaduna

Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai is a Nigerian politician who is the incumbent Governor of Kaduna State, Nigeria. He was the former Director General of Bureau of Public Enterprises, the head of privatisation agency in Nigeria. 16. Emeka Ihedioha (PDP) Imo

Chukwuemeka Nkem Ihedioha is a Nigerian politician and investor. He is a Peoples Democratic Party member and represented the Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency of Imo State. He is also the former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives of Nigeria.

17. Darius Ishaku (PDP) Taraba

Darius Dickson Ishaku, FNIA, FNITP is a Nigerian Architect, Urban planner, University lecturer and Political figure. He is a member of the People’s Democratic Party and the current Governor of Taraba State.

18. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq (APC) Kwara

Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq is the CEO, First Fuels Limited, and son of Alhaji AGF Abdulrazaq, the first Northern lawyer in Nigeria, the journey to fame actually started when he ventured into importation of petroleum products at a relatively young age.

19. Abdullahi Sule (APC) Nassarawa 

Sule was born on 26 December 1959 in Gudi Station, Akwanga-west development area of Nasarawa state.

According to a bio posted on Facebook, his father is the current traditional ruler (Hakimi) of the village.

20. Atiku Bagudu (APC) Kebbi 

Abubakar Atiku Bagudu is a Nigerian politician who was the Senator for Kebbi Central constituency of Kebbi State and was Minister of the Federal Capital Territory in December 2008.

21. Babagana Umara Zulum (APC) Borno

Prof. Umara-Zulum, is an engineer and fellow of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS.He was born in August, 1969 in Mafa Local Government Area of the state.

Mukhtar Idris (APC) Zamfara

Mukhtar Shehu Idris, born in Gusau, the state capital had in 2011 contested for the Gusau/ Tsafe Federal Constituency on the platform of PDP but was not given the ticket. He later defected to the then ANPP.
