Take Phyna, Pere and give us Tyla – Ike Onyema woos South Africa

Big Brother Naija star, Ike Onyema has offered a swap deal to South Africa following their semi-final loss to Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

He suggested that South Africa take Nigerians celebrities, Pere Egbi and Josephina Otabor aka Phyna, while they give Grammy winning singer Tyla to Nigeria.

Ike made the offer through his Twitter page after Super Eagles of Nigeria beat Bafana Bafana of South Africa to earn a spot in the AFCON final.

The BBNaija two-time contestant initially presented his colleague, Pere as the main deal but noted that Phyna can be added as a bonus.

It is worth noting that Tyla surpassed Davido, Ayra Starr, and other Nigerian music stars to win a 2023 Grammy Award.

The post has since generated a wave of reactions from Nigerians who found it humourous while others condemned the BBNaija star.

“Give us Tyla and take Pere Egbi. We can add Phyna,” Ike Onyema wrote.

‘Pashto’ by Béla Fleck, Edgar Meyer & Zakir Hussain Featuring Rakesh Chaurasia beat Davido’s ‘Feel’ and Burna Boy’s ‘Alone’ to win the Best Global Music Performance. While Burna Boy’s ‘I Told Them’ and Davido’s ‘Timeless’ also lost the Best Global Album to Shakti’s ‘The Moment’.
