Nigerian singer, Jire has reacted to the arrest of Naira Marley and Zlatan Ibile by the EFCC. The singer shared a rather different perspective to the on-going conversation on internet fraud in Nigeria.
According tp Jire, Naira Marley and Zlatan who are currently in EFCC custody on fraud related charges are not the only Yahoo boys in the Nigerian music industry.
Naira Marley and Zlatan Ibile are not the only Yahoo boys we have in this industry, EFCC needs to arrest more musicians, he tweeted.
He went on to say, ‘nobody holy pass but we as role models need to do better in projecting the nation at large ; I would like to name drop but I don’t want your favorites to get arrested’.
That is that.. However in another news, Ruggedman has reacted to claims that he has a hand in the arrest of the musicians.
Ever since the arrest of the singers, a lot of people have suggested that Ruggedman may have a hand in the problem that has befallen the singer. Recall that prior to his arrest, Nairamarley had made a video blasting Ruggedman for going against his show of support for internet fraudsters.
The veteran rapper has declared he has no hand in it whatsoever, as he claims that all he did was to caution young artist who has influence against making utterances about an issue that is globally considered a crime.

Ruggedman further disclosed that he’s got nothing against the arrested singer despite the disrespect to his person.
His statement reads in part;
“I have read and heard all sorts of comments pertaining to the Naira Marley case and seen the misinformation making the rounds which is quite unfortunate to say the least. I do not know Naira Marley personally, the same way I do not know the over 300 Nigerians I have gotten justice for against police brutality.”
“I do it because it is who I am. All I did was caution a young artist, who has influence, against making utterances about an issue that by global standard is considered a crime. I believe correcting this was the way to go as an elder, but got insulted for this even by those being misled.”
“I hereby state categorically that I had nothing to do with his arrest. We all must recall that he glorified fraud on a public platform where security agencies like the Police, NDLEA and EFCC are also on. I am sure they saw his posts and captions the same way we all did. I, however, was the one that cautioned him. I guess this was what led all the darts and arrows my way as a literal mortal retribution to my person.”
